During the eighth grade year students will begin their formal preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation.  Damascus Catholic Youth Camp hosts the Confirmation Retreat in the fall led by young adults specifically trained in this ministry.    This year of preparation will lead lead our youth to a closer relationship with Christ, through Mass, prayer and study supported by their sponsor and parents.  Students learn that by their Baptismal call we live as Christian witnesses through service to our families, communities, and to our world.  Our young Catholics are Confirmed in the fall of their 9th grade year.   

Catechism of the Catholic Church:  1316 "Confirmation perfects Baptismal grace; it is the sacrament which gives the Holy Spirit in order to root us more deeply in the divine filiation, incorporate us more firmly into Christ, strengthen our bond with the Church, associate us more closely with her mission, and help us bear witness to the Christian faith in words accompanied by deeds."
